Electrical Services for Your Home

All of our work is done under our Master Electrical License and electrical contractor license TECL 36609, and every electrician who comes to your home is licensed and insured. We take care of small problems such as an outlet that quit, a breaker that keeps tripping or a light that flickers, and larger jobs like panel upgrades, full rewiring, generator installs and home battery backup. Remodel and addition wiring, fixes after a failed inspection, surge protection, and torque and cleans that retighten and check the connections in your panel are part of our work too.

Why Homeowners Book Us

Electrical problems are rarely where they first appear. A warm switch plate can trace back to a loose lug at the panel, so we test the whole circuit before we quote.

Credentials you can check

We hold a Master Electrical License and are a licensed electrical contractor, TECL 36609. The electricians who work in your home are licensed and insured. You can look up the contractor license with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation before we arrive.

We test before we quote

We use a meter, a circuit tracer and, when it helps, a thermal camera to find the actual failure. A breaker that trips under load is a different repair than one that trips at random, and the price should reflect which one you have.

Parts named, reasons given

Your estimate says what we will replace and why: a worn backstabbed receptacle, a scorched neutral bar, an undersized conductor on a 30-amp breaker. If a repair will hold, we say so instead of selling you a new panel.

Paperwork off your plate

Permitted jobs stay with us from application to sign-off. We file for the permit, line up the inspection on the schedule the local jurisdiction sets and meet the inspector on site, so you are not chasing the city office or waiting around for a knock at the door.

Work sized for long, hot summers

Air conditioners running for months put steady load on breakers and connections. We size circuits and tighten terminations with that heat in mind, so the repair holds through August.

How a Job Runs

Most visits follow the same four steps, from the first call to the final inspection.

  1. 1

    Book by phone

Tell us what you are seeing: which outlets are dead, when the breaker trips, what you want installed. We set a service visit at a time that works for you.

  2. 2

    Test and find the cause

We check voltage, load and connections at the device and at the panel. You get a plain answer on what failed and why, with photos when they help.

  3. 3

    Approve a written estimate

We list parts, labor and any permit. Nothing starts until you approve it.

  4. 4

Do the work and close it out

We cover floors, protect finished surfaces and clean up as we go. For permitted work we stay on through inspection, then walk you through the panel labeling and anything new.

About Electrician Grand Prairie

We are a local electrical contractor working in homes across Grand Prairie and the surrounding cities. Much of what we see comes from the age of the house and the climate it lives in: original panels running past their prime, backstabbed outlets that loosen after years of heat cycling, and kitchen circuits laid out decades ago for far fewer appliances than people plug in today.

We work the way we would want someone to work in our own house. That means testing first, explaining the cause in terms that make sense, quoting in writing and leaving the place clean. If you only need a breaker swapped, that is what we will recommend.

Questions We Hear From Homeowners

Something not covered here? (682) 343-9645

Do you take care of permits?

Yes, whenever a job needs one. Panel replacements, new circuits, EV chargers, generators and rewiring typically require a permit and inspection. We handle the permit filing ourselves, schedule the inspection as your local jurisdiction requires and stay with the job until it passes.

Why does my breaker keep tripping?

The cause is usually one of a few. An overloaded circuit trips after several minutes of heavy use, like a microwave and space heater on the same line. A short or ground fault trips instantly. A worn breaker or loose connection can trip at random and often feels warm. We test to find out which it is before replacing anything.

How long does it take to upgrade a panel?

The panel swap itself is usually a one-day job, with power off for part of that day. The overall schedule depends on the permit, the inspector's availability and any utility disconnect and reconnect. Your quote comes with the full timeline.

Can you put an EV charger in my garage?

For most homes, yes. We start by checking your service's remaining capacity and whether there is space for a two-pole breaker. The charger gets its own circuit, with wire sized for its amperage and the length of the run. If the panel is full or the service is small, we explain choices such as a load-management device or a panel upgrade.

What happens during a torque and clean?

It is regular maintenance for the panel. With the power off, we remove the dead front, tighten breaker lugs and the neutral and ground terminals to the manufacturer's torque value, and clear out dust and debris. Heat cycles loosen connections over the years, and loose lugs run hot. Anything worn, like a discolored breaker, gets photographed and noted for you.

Is whole-home surge protection worth adding?

For most homes it is a sensible addition. Mounted at or beside the panel, the surge protective device holds down spikes from lightning and utility switching before they reach your circuits, guarding smart thermostats, variable-speed HVAC boards and electronics. It relies on its ground path, so we check grounding and bonding as part of the install. Plug-in protectors at sensitive gear still give you a second layer.

Do you warranty your work?

Yes, our workmanship carries a 1-year warranty. If something we installed or repaired fails within that year because of our work, call us and we will come back and fix it. We explain the coverage when we go over your estimate.

What should I tell you when I call?

Describe what is happening and when: which rooms, whether a breaker or a GFCI keeps tripping, and any smell, buzz or heat. The rough age of the house and the panel brand on the door label help us get ready. For an install, have the charger, fixture or generator model handy if you have picked one.

What Moves the Price of Electrical Work

We do not publish flat prices because two jobs with the same name can look very different once the cover is off. Here is what changes the number, so the estimate makes sense when you see it.

After we test and inspect, you get a written, line-item estimate before any work starts. If something unexpected turns up mid-job, we stop and talk it through with you first.

What we find behind the wall
Brittle cloth-sheathed cable, aluminum branch wiring or a previous owner's splice buried without a box all add work. We show you photos so you can see what we found.
Access to the run
An open attic with room to move makes fishing new cable quick. Low-pitch roofs, finished ceilings and slab foundations with no crawlspace mean more time and sometimes patching.
Panel capacity and condition
Adding an EV charger or a generator interlock may need open breaker spaces and enough service capacity. If the panel is full, outdated or a brand with known breaker problems, that changes the scope.
Materials and equipment
Copper gauge, AFCI and GFCI breakers, fixture choice, charger model and generator size all affect cost. We list each part on the estimate.
Permits and inspections
Permitted work includes the permit fee and the inspection visit. Some jobs also need coordination with the utility for a disconnect or meter work.
